Queenslanders recruited to count koalas http://apocadocs.com/s.pl?1255405315
Queenslanders are being asked to count a koala as the RSPCA tries to determine whether koala numbers are climbing or falling.
The koala count takes place on the weekend of October 24 and 25, and while the RSPCA wants information from southeast Queensland's urbanised areas, people all over the state are being asked to report koalas wherever they're seen.... "As our population grows we're pushing further and further into their habitat."
Habitat destruction means koalas have to travel on the ground as they hunt for suitable eucalyptus leaves or mates....
